Artist Statement: “I view the visual arts as an expression of self; sometimes an escape from reality, other times satire. With my work, I mix and experiment with different styles and eras, such as psychedelia, surrealism, political, punk, and/or fantasy, while diving into a variety of artmaking techniques. Often, my work tends to merge the traditional practices with digital practices. Motifs of my work include the incorporation of the eye, detailed, unique line work, unsettling patterns, use of nature (foliage and florals), and vibrant colors. The visual realm is the most appealing aspect of life; to be able to see brings unique experiences. Likewise, the appreciation of nature, down to the smallest detail, also holds importance to my work. My drawings and paintings bring out my style in unique ways, playing with line, composition, and figures, while my animations feature ambient psychedelic sound and trippy line movement. My photography, on the other hand, is characterized by dramatic lighting, sprightly color, and fun compositions. By creating work that brings out the unreal, shock, and beauty to invoke self-consciousness or question societal norms, I hope to visually captivate audiences.”
